Keil Troisi Making Film About GFS
Keil Troisi is making a movie about GFS as his project to attain
Eagle Scout status in the Boy Scouts. Helping Keil in the photo above is
his brother Aaron, left. In the photo below, Keil and his camera
crew meet with GFS alumni during a filming session.
Getting Educated
- Chris Amory is attending the University of Michigan, studying mechanical engineering and product design.
- Laura Javsicas graduated in May 2000 from Cornell University, where she was cocaptain of the equestrian team during her junior and senior years. Now Laura is a first-year student at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, studying equine medicine.
- Kate Lunger received her master's degree in criminal justice
from Temple University in September 2000. She now works for a program for
troubled foster children in Philadelphia.
Josh Pratt (right, during visit to GFS) graduated with top honors from Lycoming College in May 2000. He then embarked on two challenging careers. By day, Josh works as a therapeutic support staff person for Kids Peace in Bethlehem, PA. He works with children age 7 to 11. By night, he works the coffeehouses, playing his acoustic guitar and singing ballads. Josh recently appeared on WVIA's Homegrown Music series. |

- Andrew Pratt is in his second year at the University of Pittsburgh, frequently changing majors. Currently he is majoring in foreign languages, mainly French and Serbo-Croatian. He plans to spend his junior year abroad.
- Katharine Wamser graduated from West Chester University with a liberal arts degree in creative writing and anthropology. She is now working for a daily newspaper in the West Chester area.
- Michael Wamser is in his final year of graduate school at Ohio University. Currently he is involved with a theater internship in Cincinnati. Father Garry Wamser says Mike was partially influenced by the Bloomsburg Theater Ensemble, BTE.
Living in Nashville
Chris and Fiona Jensen are living in Nashville and attending the University School of Nashville. Chris is in seventh grade and Fiona in sixth.
Mother Sarah Jensen reports that their school has a Friends flair to it and they both love it. Both are involved in the local swim team. Fiona is an amateur ice skater and has been working on her program for the Freestyle One test. Chris is an avid soccer player. Sarah is "forever grateful to Greenwood Friends for the wonderful early childhood foundation" her children received.
Working for New York Publisher
Aaron Javsicas is working for the publishing house W. W. Norton
in New York City. He is an editorial assistant responsible for reviewing
history and psychology material on the college level. Aaron also
volunteers to teach English as a second language to refugees.
Big Congratulations for Little Bundles
- On October 9, 2000, Sarah Sweeney and husband Dan Denham become the proud parents of their first child, daughter Mary Louise.
- Adrienne Solenberger and Nathan Row welcomed to the world their first child, daughter Anna Sofia, born September 20, 2000. The family resides in Bloomsburg.

In Memoriam
Dennis Klinger, former school parent, died recently in Greenville,
North Carolina. Dennis and his wife Pamela were strong supporters of GFS
in the early years when the school was getting off the ground. Their two
children -- Brad Klinger (Atlanta, GA) and Jeff Klinger
(Boone, NC) -- attended GFS until the family moved to Greenville 17 years
ago.
Dennis was a native of Columbia County and an avid outdoorsman and
accomplished craftsman.
A memorial service was held at the Millville Friends Meetinghouse on
November 12, 2000.
