Tindall Rd, Middletown, New Jersey
The original part of the building was new and first occupied in the fall of 1954, and was then a middle school for grades 6 - 8. An extensive addition to the original building was made, and the majority of the building began use as the high school. Durng the Christmas vacation of '57-58 all of the desks, books and everything from the old high school in Leonardo were moved to the Tindall Road building. From 1958 until 1976 this was Middletown Township's only high school, but continued student population growth forced the Board of Education to again reuse parts of the school buildings in Leonardo where some of the freshman and sophomore classes attended on split sessions during that time frame. Ultimately, growth required the establishment of MTHS South in 1976 and the original building became MTHS North. |
