Peter Bird Chief (Standing Bird) Allot. #159, age 43, full blood Cheyenne, wife and 1 child. (Peter Bird Chief is nephew of Standing Bird. He is named after Standing Bird. Not to be confused with Standing Bird, the son-in-law of Medicine Water)
I visited this home on the afternoon of April 27th, 1922. He resides on the allotment of his wife about 5 miles northeast of Clinton, Oklahoma, on Turtle Creek. This Indian is one of the prized farmers of this jurisdiction and compares quite favorably with the average white farmer. He has a three room house recently put into good repair inside and out, barn 30 X 40 ft., cistern, chicken house, and a concrete storm cave.
His implements consist of a binder, mower, hay rake, two monitors, lister, cultivator, wagon, hack, buggy and he also has four sets of harness, two plows, eight head of horses, 2 colts, 8 cows, 3 calves, one goat, and four dozen chickens.
He has an excellent garden, and cultivating approximately 120 acres of land planted to corn and wheat, kafir and millet.
