THE
INGRESS CHART: The Essential Mundane Astrology Chart
What is an ingress
chart?
An ingress chart is a chart which is calculated
for the exact time which the sun makes its entry into the cardinal signs
of Aries, Capricorn, Libra, and Cancer.
It is one of the major charting delineations used in Mundane Astrology.
The others are as follows:
1. The Horoscope of a Country
2. Birth charts of country leaders
3. Solar and Lunar Eclipses.
4. Lunations
5. Conjunctions and Declinations that happen
in a cyclic manner: used a great deal in financial astrology
6. Astro-carto-graphic maps
7. Event charts
The Ingress,is based upon the exact astronomical events timed by changes
in the sun through the ecliptic. Since the astrologers before the 20th
century didnt have as much data as we, they used them as accurate
astronomical events to forecast the fate of kings and emperors and to
warn of attacks from hostile nations. Because it is an exact chart,
and because it connects the masses, or large planetary events, one is
able to use Arabic parts and other technical stuff more effectively.
When calculating any of these charts, look in your ephemeris and note
the date and time of the Ingress. Alternatively, just make sure that
the sun, in your locale on your computer, is a 00deg, 00min, 00sec of
cap, can, ari, or lib, and youll have the correct chart, and dont
do this at 1:00 AM when i did recently and was too tired to notice Id
calculated it for GMT, London.
Why Cardinal signs? Because everything in astrology happens within the
ecliptic of the sun(some things are outside like OOB, but in a sense
they are accounted for actually this way.) The cardinal signs are the
points where the sun makes a change i its pass through the ecliptic:
1. The solstices: Cancer and Capricorn:
when the sun changes direction moving closer to the sun or farther away
from he sun(Alternatively, all the solstice points.)
2. the Equinoxes: where the sun passes
across the center of the ecliptic and heads into the southern portion.
They are significant timing points of the change in mundane astrology.
