What Is Mundane Astrology?
What is Mundane Astrology? This brings us back to what astrology actually is. There is a very popular misconception that there are distinct discrete subjects of astrology of which MUNDANE ASTROLOGY is one of them. This is simply NOT TRUE. Astrology as a subject is the description of a continuum of the universe running from the Macrocosm to the Microcosm and back again. At each different level, it is as if you had an infinite ZOOM lens that went from electron microscope to radio telescope. At each level you zoomed, it would remain in focus. The Microcosm is the human mind and is best represented by the astrology of Noel Tyl. As you move toward the macrocosm view, you move into various kinds of individual event oriented astrologies, and then wider into Time and Event Orientations with cycles that are larger and broader. The transitions move from inside the human mind to individual interactions with environment, to groups of people interacting with the environment, and then to nations interacting with the environment, and finally in esoteric astrology, with Planetary LIVES interacting with the environment of the universe. The time cycle varies from momentary to cycles that last many thousands of years. But As Above, So Below is the esoteric aphorism. To really understand astrology, you must understand this continuum. Psychological Astrology is the microcosm as its currently configured by humans. However, we may yet have an astrology of elementary particles. Traditional Event astrology is next on the continuum as we look wider. Shifting our gaze out again, we end up in the time/space constituency of Horary Astrology. Shifting ever so slightly we go to Horary Event Astrology. Shifting up again we are in Mundane/Political, and shifting up again, we are in Esoteric Astrology(which no longer involves individual consciousness of the three worlds of human evolution.) But each shift up brings with it the life blood of the the previous astrology; it builds on the perceptions of the one closest below it(I am about to break into the Moody Blues song about the Lost Chord, and the AUM) Mundane astrology is NOT an expansion of the traditional natal astrology. It is an expansion of the Horary Event Astrology. One learns effective Mundane Astrology by studying what was before it: Horary and Event Horary. One learns Mundane Astrology by recognizing the continuum. One learns Mundane Astrology by realizing that its a visionary complexity rather than a set of discrete events. But using a zoom lens, when you expand those volumes what worked for psychological astrology works just as well for Horary, for Event Horary, for Mundane, and even esoteric if you discount the individual. This is the Key to understanding any point on the Continuum of Astrology: Change the Zoom, Keep the Focus. Specifically what would I recommend? 1. Three volumes by Ivy Goldstein Jacobson: SIMPLIFIED HORARY ASTROLOGY, ALL IN HERE AND THERE IN ASTROLOGY, and THE WAY OF ASTROLOGY. 2. Sepharial's: HEBREW ASTROLOGY 3. CC Zain's: MUNDANE ASTROLOGY 4. Rex E. Bills: THE RULERSHIP BOOK 5. Devore's: ENCYCLOPEDIA OF ASTROLOGY 6. Lewellyn: A-Z DELINEATOR(the original hardbound addition) 7. McRae: The Geodetic World Map 8. Ebertin: COSI 9. No one should be without Noel Tyl's Book on Mundane: PREDICTIONS FOR A NEW MILLENNIUM. His own astrology is microcosmic; but he's writing here on a macrocosmic level by changing the zoom but keeping the focus the same.
