Most new ventures involve some aspect of good luck. And most new ventures have the need for good financial luck. They appear to be intertwined, but they also don’t appear to be vocationally related.

By vocationally related, I mean that the ability to attract good financial luck, such as winning in speculative enterprises, is not related to your ability to make money in your natal chart. However, your ability to keep the money you gained may well be so. A study of California lottery winners showed that fully 70% were back in debt within three years of winning one million dollars or more.

In researching the issue and looking at various charts, the following are my conclusions about having good financial luck and about getting it. Luck is broken down into three factors. The most lucky person will have most of all three factors. At this point I am unable to determine the priority of the factors, except to speculate. It appears that the daily moment may be number one, followed by natal luck, followed by geographical location.

So this means that the three factors are as follows:

1. Having a financially lucky chart

2. Choosing a financially lucky day for your venture

3. Being in a lucky place when you start the venture

Lets look at the primary factors that seem to be involved.

Two planets are most significant. These are Jupiter and Pluto. Why?

Jupiter appears to fill up space. It’s a happy planet which allows for ultimate expansion regardless of your need for the expansion, or even the ability to deal with it. Jupiter allows us to create what we want. It is Jupiter’s point in the 9th house of religion, which it rules natally, which allows us to create religions where the concept of a God who created the universe then empowers us and out friends(those in our religious persuasion) to run it.

Jupiter is always associated with money: Jupiter is associated with rewards, and rewards almost always mean money for adults in our society. It is said that in gambling many people do it to seek a proof of their own goodness. Obviously if you win a million dollars in the lottery, some incomprehensible higher authority has deemed you superior to the multitudes. Oddly, those with nouveau riches tend to act as if they are better than others, and perhaps subconsciously they feel that they are, since the INCOMPREHENSIBLE HIGHER AUTHORITY has chosen them to have wealth.

OK…..Jupiter is pretty obvious. What about Pluto, then?

The problem is that though Jupiter is the planet of huge amounts, its also the planet of conformity. It doesn’t rule religion for nothing. And conforming cuts down on your ability to be different from the rest. You won’t win much, and your winnings will be like everyone else. Pluto is the perfect solution: the planet of singularity. Its so far from the Sun that the Sun looks like every other star in its sky. Pluto is the planet of the unique. It’s the planet of still being here, but almost being completely gone. It has a precarious balance point. Winning a huge amount of money, making it in the stock market, being the richest man in the world: all of these are clearly Plutonian events.

So a combination of Jupiter and Pluto will make for the potential of significant luckiness. Other potential planets could be involved. Uranus might be substituted for Pluto, but with less effect. Uranus is the planet of unusual events but not of bone chilling singularity. Also, having the Moon involved can be important.

The placement of these planets is important: they have to be angular. The ideal placement would probably put Jupiter on the MH and Pluto on the ASC and the either most powerful or most harmonious planet as their midpoints. Having one angular, is better than none. Having neither angular is probably not as significant as how far away from being angular they are. And failing to be angular then, having them in the 1st, 4th, 7th, and 10th house and as close to angular as possible would help.

Having Jupiter and Pluto(and in a lesser sense) Uranus, in harmonious aspect to the most powerful and most harmonious planet in your chart is also useful. Having the Jupiter/Pluto aspect relationship being the most or nearly most powerful and harmonious would be helpful. Power is more important than harmony, since power blows through friction, but frictionlessness without forward motive power goes nowhere.

In regard to location, one would try to be on the Jupiter/Pluto intersect point astro*carto*graphy point. Failing this, and for most of us this would be a failure, one should at least be as close to the line of one’s most powerful planet in the chart.

Now……Lets look at a chart. The first chart we are going to look at is of someone I will call Olive. Olive has offered her chart as a multiple repeat lottery winner. Lets look to see how many of the items she has in her chart, and if based on MY research whether there are any ways she might augment her luck factors. If she carries this out and wins a million bucks(US$), then I will expect the standard 15% agent fee ;-) .

Olive clearly has a lot of luck factors in her chart.

1. Jupiter is almost exactly sextile Jupiter.

2. Pluto is conjunct the angle of the MH. Its on the cadent house side, however.

3. In a midpoint sort, Olive has the powerful Jupiter/Pluto=Moon, giving both the luck, but the emotional conviction that it will work. This would be called the VULCAN MIND TAP Solar Arc.

4. In her chart, the Jupiter/Pluto aspectual relationship is not only powerful but also harmonious.

5. The Jupiter/MH aspectual relationship is the most powerful in her chart(and with Pluto in the conjunction with the MH, this is super). One might look for winning days with a powerful Jupiter MH, matching hers.

6. Jupiter is the most harmonious planet in her chart, and the third most powerful.

7. Pluto, while disharmonious(read that friction producing) is the 4th in power.

8. In regard to a good place for this, her best spot is in northern Greenland, obviously an impossibility. However, her Sun is the second most powerful planet in her chart, and she lives very close to the MH line of the Sun on the date of her winning, a bit of an improvement from her actual birth place.

This is a pretty lucky chart forOlive. Now if she could just get them to put a Casino in Northern Greenland she could go up and play blackjack.

Let’s look at the day of her biggest win: 9-27-2000.

1. On this time, Pluto and Jupiter are oppositional and in angular houses.

2. Jupiter/Pluto=MH. WOW!!!!!

3. The Sun is the second most powerful planet in this chart, and this is the same in her natal chart.

4. Jupiter/Pluto is the second most powerful aspect in this daily chart.

How might we look to augment dates for Olive?

Common sense suggests that lots of lucky people will be competing with Olive. How can she beat the odds. She can’t do anything her birth, and she can’t move to Greenland, but living on the powerful Sun MH line gives her an edge. She would want to look for days which most closely match the characteristics of her natal luck chart.
