Understanding Fourth Stage Classical Astrology Prediction©

Step 1: Background Preparation

A. Look at the natal chart. Classically, "No Promise Made, No Promise Kept." The must be an aspect natally or nothing will show by progressions or transits. Perhaps use of Solar Arcs in the Tyl Method, within the bounds of the New Astrology, lessens this, however, in Classical Newtonian Astrology. The following aspects are part of the connection: 30, 36, 40, 45, 60, 72, 90, 108, 135, 144, 150, 180: 1 degree applying/1 degree separating, except for the Sun which is 1.5 separating/applying. A connection of the parallel of declination is a connection. The connection of mutual reception is also a connection.

B. The sequence goes as follows using the campfire apology:

1. Natal Aspects put down the twigs and fire starter
2. Progressed Aspects dump gasoline on the pile
3. Transits to progressed aspects light the fire

Step 2: Drawing the Chart

1. Mark the Progressed Midheaven, Ascendant, Planets, and Arabic Points--if they aspect the natal planets

2. Circle all planets in the Progressed Chart that are in the first house in the natal chart, the natal ascendant, and the natal ruler of the ascendant

3. Mark the converse Progressed Midheaven, Ascendant, Planets, and Arabic Points--if they aspect the natal planets

4. Show the conversed progressed Moon whether it aspects natal planets or not

5. Show the solar Arc directed Moon, and the birthday moon (Moons show changing activities; Planets show events)
6. Show the Moon’s nodes, natal and progressed

7. Show any progressed or regressed planet in a critical degree (0, 13, 26 degree of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn; 9 or 21st degree of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius; 4th or 17th degree of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces. Conjunctions of progressed or transiting planets over critical degrees bring matters to a Head.

8. Enter eclipses or Lunations on the outside

9. Enter the Natal and progressed Dark Moon Lilith and her solstice points.

10. Check and mark progressed planetary aspects to natal and progressed star Caput Algol and the Pleiades.

11. Determine the progressed strength and harmony/disharmony of the planets.

a. If the natal planet is harmonic and powerful, or if the progressed planet is harmonic and powerful,

(1) It will respond easily to good aspects from progressed planets
(2) It will require effort and some loss in dealing with bad aspects to progressed planets.

b. If the natal planet or progressed planet is disharmonic and powerful:

(1) It may react badly and go to extremes (especially if the planet is out of bounds or has a high latitude)

c. If the natal or progressed planet is intercepted by sign, in an early degree (1-7), or slow moving so that it will never go out of the interception

(1) Don’t worry about it. It’s not going to have enough power to do anything significant

d. If the natal planet is in mutual reception with the progressed planet, or the progressed planet is in mutual reception with another progressed planet.

(1) It may move away and slip out of aspect, lessening the impact a lot
(2) You may need to consider the other mutually recepted planet’s response

Step 3: The Progressed Chart as representative of the broad-brush strokes of change for the current place in life.

1. Find the Moon’s house and sign placement at birth and the Progressed Moon’s house and sign placement, and look at changes wrought, by the addition to the personality.

2. Find the Ascendant’s house and sign placement at birth and the Progressed Ascendant’s house and sign placement, and look at changes wrought, by the addition to the personality.

3. Find the Sun’s house and sign placement at birth and the Progressed Sun’s house and sign placement, and look at changes wrought, by the addition to the personality.
4. Look for any VOC planet in the natal chart, and note the change as it has progressed.

5. Note and consider any change in Signature.

6. Consider various House Progressions

a. Midheaven Progression moving to conjunct with a natal planet
b. Ascendant progressions moved to conjunct with a natal planet
c. 4th house cusp (nadir) progressed to conjunct with a natal planet
d. Descendant progressed to conjunct with a natal planet

7. Look at the top three manifesting planets in power, harmony, and disharmony in the natal chart. Look at their positioning in the progressed chart. Look at the top three manifesting planets in power, harmony, and disharmony in the progressed chart and compare them to the natal to see if there is a change in the personality, and how it might manifest for the future.

Step 4: Developing Specifics in the Progressed Chart

1. Look to the most impacting progressions first, which will be

a. Aspects to the natal Ascendant
b. Aspects to the ruler of the ascendent
c. Aspects to any natal planet in an angular house

For example, in an amazing number of cases, the birthdate of the significant other in a serious and often permanent heterosexual relationship will show up as a blip in the progressed or converse progressed chart of the male. The blip will be one of a, b, or c above.

2. Look, then at less impacting aspects in Succeedent and Cadent houses, but only in aspects for conjunction, square, opposition, or inconjunct (trines and sextiles maintain the status quo but don’t tend to change things.)

3. Evaluate the basic meaning of the changed relationship by aspect and house the natal planet is compared to the progressed planets

4. Look at the progressed planets and the nodes of the natal Moon, and especially also the progressed moon for the significance of potential for difficulties, injuries, illness, and fatality.

5. Look at specific progressions to the following natal planets, for good luck or monetary increases during the year:

Jupiter, Venus, Part of Fortune, Planets in the 2nd house, Ruler of the 2nd house, solstice points of Jupiter, Venus, POT, and planets in the 2nd house.

6. Look for specific hard aspects (conjunction, square, opposition, inconjunct) to eclipses.

7. Please note: Planetary progressions give general concepts for the year; lunar progressions give general concepts for the month; Transits and eclipses give the actual day of the event/action.

Step 5: TRANSITS: Lighting the Fire

1. Make Sure there is a relationship Natally. Remember that a relationship is more than just an aspect to a natal planet, you have to include an aspect to a natal planet’s solstice point, an aspect to a mutual reception planet of the one you are looking at, and other conceptual relationships.

2. Make a note of the degrees per year of movement of each planet (in real time transit mode) so that you can identify the sphere of action of the planet over the next year.

3. Consider the Major Transits first TO:

a. Natal Ruler of the Ascendant

b. Progressed Ruler of the Progressed Ascendant

c. Transits to Progressed Planets in Angular Houses

d. Transits to Natal Planets in Angular Houses

4. Look for Transiting planets that may be in mutual reception to the natal or progressed ruler of the Ascendant. This is an interaction between your self and someone represented by the house holding the transiting planet:

a. If in good aspect: then it’s a mutually beneficial circumstance

b. If in bad aspect: then it has potential for disappointment, loss, and some kind of trouble

c. If the transiting planet it Rx then the person of the house may be ill physically or emotionally/mentally in some way

5. Calculate the actual Birthday Moon (this is the moon in the same position as at birth, which is usually close to the birthdate)

a. Look at the latitude: closer to 5:18 the more leeway in action during the yearly period, closer to 0:00 the more content to stay at home(compare to what normal stay at home for the individual means) or stay within the normal bounds of action

b. Check the parallels to progressed or natal planets: these act like a conjunction. If there is a north/south parallel they may be a parting of the ways of someone represented by the house involved.

c. Look for besieged planets. These are less free in their actions and may indicate duress, or stresses.

(1) If angular: may indicate some form of abandonment

(2) If Succeedent: financial issues may be at stake or surgery of someone in the circle

(3) If Cadent, involves traveling to people you know

6. Increasing or decreasing in light:

a. Increasing: actions tend to cooperate with others, and if the Moon is in an angular house, then an open cooperation

b. Decreasing: person tends to work alone, not involving others, pay may be comparatively low, or may be volunteer

7. Look at other aspects of the Moon to other planets in the chart progressed or natal.

8. Look for transiting planets transiting natal or progressed retrograde planets

9. Other Transits

a. Look for a transiting planet that is stationary and is Ruler of natal Ascendent or Ruler of progressed Ascendant: period of standstill in house affected; if the transiting planet is about to go Rx then, proceed cautiously

b. Look for a transiting planet that is already Rx and is Ruler of natal Ascendent or Ruler of progressed Ascendant since it will go back and do something again.

10. Pay attention to the AREA OF INFLUENCE OF TRANSITING PLANETS

a. The area of influence between the natal sun and the progressed sun is the most significant area of influence in the chart

b. The degree space between the natal planet’s position and the progressed planet’s position is its area of influence. This is the same for the natal ascendant and the progressed ascendant.

c. Obviously the older you get the bigger the area of influence becomes, and rightly so.

Step 6: Using the Transits: How to Proceed!

1. Determine the strength/harmony/disharmony of the planet and characteristics of the aspects.

2. Having already done #1, determine whether the aspected planet will react favorably, unfavorably, or both with the transiting planet.

3. Look at the house of the transiting planet to gain knowledge of the field of action involved.

4. Look first at the most significant aspects to:

a. Ruler of the natal or progressed ascendant
b. Planets in natal or progressed first house

5. Up to age 30, the transits will have more impact to the natal chart than the progressed chart; after 30 the transits will have more impact to the progressed chart than the natal one.

6. Look at the transits through the Seven Quotients: change, energy, limitation, growth, diffused/confused growth, focused mental energy, Time photographs.

Step 7: Fine Tuning The Prediction Chart

1. Look at the Returns:
Lunar Returns: Calculated when moon returns to birth hour every 28 days

Solar Returns: current year, same birth time
Use same interpretation for the sequence of Total Immersion Astrology:
a. Moon(change, sun/moon blend, Uranus, Pluto)
b. Neptune/Lilith
c. Mars
d. Saturn
e. Venus/Jupiter

f. Mercury
g. Time: Snapshots of Infinity

2. Look at the incidence of Eclipses

3. Look at the change in the lunar and planetary nodes

4. Look at the first Planet to Rise(oriental planet)
