NEW !!!
·
Grandpa
Tony: We found you! Well, you were never lost, but it would seem
like the information was scattered here and there, and nobody ever put the
pieces together…until now.
·
Interestingly,
Grandpa Tony’s older brother Salvatore lived in the Luzerne/Swoyersville
area. He married Natalia Gullo, and they
had several children. According to his
grandson, William (Bill) Favata of Los Angeles, CA: “He married “Natala” (also from Bivona I
suspect) and ended-up raising a family in the broader Luzerne/Swoyersville, PA
area, working in the coal mines. He eventually contracted black lung disease
and was told to go to California to live out his days. All the family swiftly
packed-up (including Nana) and the clan drove west around 1936?. They had
planned to return to PA and bring Papa back by train, as I understand it.
Anyway, when the clan arrived in LA, they received a telegram that Papa had
already died. So, Nana and her oldest son, Pete, then took a train back to PA
to settle affairs. His children: Peter, Jenny, Ginny, Josie, Chuck, and Casper
were all born and raised in the East coast.
Also, my dad told me stories of joining Papa in hunting for rabbit out
in the woods of Swoyersville. Their street address at one point was 368 Main
St., Luzerne, PA.
·
One of
those children was named Jenny. Jenny
married Emmanuel Muella. Emmanuel Muella
was Bertha Favata’s Brother. Bertha was
Grandpa Tony’s wife. As such, ALL
DESCENDENTS RESULTING FROM THE MARRIAGES OF BERTHA (MULE) FAVATA AND ANTHONY
FAVATA AS WELL AS JENNY (FAVATA) MUELLA MULE AND EMMANUEL MUELLA ARE RELATED
THROUGH BOTH INDIVIDUALS!
Confusing? Check out the graphical
family tree section WHERE I HAVE ADDED A FOURTH TREE DEDICATED TO GRANDPA
TONY’S LINEAGE! Check out the interactive
page for pictures and additional information (PASSWORD REQUIRED). I am updating this regularly as information
continues to pour in.
·
The functionality of the interactive family
tree web page has been improved making it more user friendly. This includes:
1. Combining
all of the family trees into one interactive page; there will no longer be 3
separate trees for each family line;
2. Adding
features that will allow an individual to see his or her immediate “branch” of
the family tree on their own page;
3. Adding
a calendar feature that will allow for printing of a monthly calendar that will
list all of the birthdays and anniversaries of occurring in that particular
month (assuming I have been provided with all of the necessary date information
by contributors to the site);
4.
Google Earth Maps™: for place names, a user will be able to click
on the place, and your browser will launch an interactive Google Earth™ Map
that you will be able to toggle back and forth from Satellite, street map or hybrid.
CUSTOMIZED GENEALOGY REPORTS
I now have the capability to produce customized genealogy reports for ANYBODY that appears in this family tree. These reports are large books that “harvests” information from this web page and includes pictures, time lines, and individual family trees. The report will exclude anyone that is not related to the “subject” individual. The report also analyzes everyone in the tree who is related to the subject individual and describes the nature of the relationship. For example, it may say that John Doe is Subject’s Third Cousin twice removed. I cannot include these reports on this website, as they are very large in size. However, if you wish for me to produce one of these reports on anyone in the tree, please click on my image at the bottom of this page to send me an email. I can produce the report and email to you. They are in the pdf format (Adobe Acrobat Reader). Caution: These reports are large in size (sometimes 5 -10 MB), and if you do not have broadband or DSL, they can really clog up an email in box. I can also arrange to mail using good old fashioned snail mail.

About Me
My name is Anthony Richard Favata, and I am married to Erin Janina (Garrison) Favata. We have two children named Ameilia Rose and Anthony Francis Favata. This web site is dedicated to my children.
About This Site
The purpose of this site is to document my children's ancestors. Each and every one of us is a montage of the many individuals who came before us. We are a combination of their blood, attitudes, fears, hopes and dreams. Thus, we are all a product of nature and nurture.
This web site will hopefully be used as a tool by my children (and anyone who desires to research their family history should it somehow be connected to the above surnames.) I intend it to be a dynamic site, and I will do my best to update it as I receive additional information. It is meant to be interactive.
As a young boy, I tried several times to document my family roots—mostly as a result of something that was asked of us by our schoolteachers at the time. What resulted were many illegible index cards, dog-eared notebook scraps, and jumbled remembrances from what the elderly members of our family told me. Many times, the effort became so convoluted that I simply gave up. This was too bad, as many of those memories went to the grave with their owners. As a matter of fact, it seemed that as I grew older, the only time the interest in fully documenting the family tree ever rekindled was after someone passed away. Each time the effort began once again, progress advanced a little further.
During
the past 12 years or so, I and other members of my family have attempted to put
the puzzle together once and for all. We utilized oral histories, old photos,
internet research, obituaries, cemetery records and other pertinent data. What
has resulted is (I believe) the most complete history of my children's roots
compiled thus far. Acknowledgements of various contributors can be found at
the bottom of this page. As a matter of fact, precursors to this web page
have shown up in Google searches all around the world. As a result, one
"branch" of the Mullay lineage was reunited with the rest of the tree
after over a half a century of separation. I have made contact with other
family members, and through email and the Internet, we continue to work
together to ever improve the accuracy of the data contained herein.
So the bottom line is that this web page will hopefully be an all-inclusive one-stop repository for my children to get an insight into who they really are. They, like each and every one of us have their own individual identities, but they will also see that there were a great many people who had a hand in who they are, whether directly or indirectly. Hopefully, this web site will be the first and last place they have to look to obtain this information.
COMPONENTS OF THIS SITE
Graphical Depictions of the Family Tree
These are graphical depictions of
the respective lineages. The user can view the entire family tree chart within
the web browser. In addition, the family tree could be printed or saved to the
user's local computer for later use. It allows for the user to get the
"big picture" for that particular family line. Note: There are no
interactive features with the graphical family tree depiction pages. It is
strictly read-only viewing.

Tree Main Page
Interactive Family Tree Information
These pages depict our family
history in an interactive fashion. One can view more detailed information on
specific individuals or family names. Such details may include information
regarding marriages, education, professions and burial locations. Emails and
other contact information can also be included if that particular individual
desires. Simply clicking on an individual's name brings up an entire individual
profile detailing information about that person and their immediate family linkages.
In addition, by simply clicking on a name, one can view that individual's exact
place in the family tree! NOTE: These pages work best with Internet
Explorer. While these pages may work in other browsers, some features may not
function properly.

UPCOMING INITIATIVES:
This space reserved for updates
on initiatives impacting this project.
Such announcements will be placed here and will occur at a frequency
that is directly related to my eagerness and enthusiasm at any given moment in
time!
Acknowledgements:
Kathy (Favata)
Holton provided much of the information
regarding the Favata/Mule (Mullay & Muella)/Sicurella & Cimeno Lineage;
Carla (Favata)
Janov salvaged and touched up many of the
photos associated with the Favata/Mule (Mullay & Muella)/Sicurella &
Cimeno Lineage after the passing of my Grandmother, Bertha (Mullay) Favata in
1995. This was long before digital imaging came into its own, and her no doubt
long and tedious effort in preserving these photos is greatly appreciated. She
also went to great lengths to determine through interviews with primarily our
Great Aunt Mary Bileggi the identity of individuals in a great many of the
photos that are contained on this site;
Rose
(Blandina) Sidorowicz and Vincentina
(Blandina) Fulmer provided much of the information regarding the Blandina
line of the Favata/Garrison/Sidorowicz/Blandina Lineage;
John (Sonny)
Sidorowicz provided much of the
information regarding the Sidorowicz line of the
Favata/Garrison/Sidorowicz/Blandina Lineage.
Additional information was provided by Renee Sidorowicz Higgins
and Kimberly Craig.
Suzanne (Nero)
Favata provided much of the information
regarding the Favata/Nero & Trudgen Lineage. Much of this information was
compiled and recorded by her Aunt Thelma. Sadly, Aunt Thelma passed away in
January of 2006. Suzanne is attempting to obtain as much of the recorded
information as possible from Aunt Thelma’s daughter;
April of
2006: Thanks to April Ambrose for
providing me with corrections, updates and pictures regarding the Favata/Nero
& Trudgen Lineage
September
2006: Thanks to Vincent Sicurella
for providing information regarding the Sicurella branch of our family. He was able to provide pictures and burial
information as well as information about the Italian towns that the
Sicurella/Cimeno family comes from. More
information is forthcoming thanks to his generosity.
November
2007: Thanks to Mary Gaiteri for
providing information regarding Anthony Favata’s lineage (Grandpa Tony). Utilizing this information allowed me to
piece together the family connection with the Gaiteri & Ferraro
surnames. In addition, her data allowed
me to make a connection that established family relationships between Anthony
and family that currently lives out in California (Muella);
February
2008: Thanks to Anne Elizabeth Gilroy
Lewis for her gracious contributions (information and pictures) that aided in
my efforts to further complete the many missing pieces associated with the
Blandina lineage;
February
2009: Thanks to William (Bill) Favata
for providing additional information regarding Salvatore Favata (Grandpa Tony’s
older brother) and that portion of our lineage;
Acknowledgement
is given to all additional family members (e.g., Gina Muella, Pam
Mullay, Christina Comstock, Placido (Pat) DiCarlo, Christina
Comstock) who have already contacted me and who may contact me in the
future providing insight as to who people are as well as to fill in the missing
pieces. There are many missing parts, and this project would not forge ahead
toward completion if it weren't for the many people who contact me through the
Internet.
Links to other related family
tree web sites
It is acknowledged that there will be
linkages to other family lineages. If you know of an existing web page that has
a connection to any of the family lineages detailed on these pages, please let
me know. I will provide a link in this spot.
Note: All external links will open in a separate
browser window.
Genealogy Links (will open in new windows)
v
Ellis island.org. If
your think your family entered this country through Ellis Island, this is a
good place to start your research.
v
Genopro.com. This is
the main page for the Genealogy software that I used to create many of the
features on the interactive family tree page.
There is a trial version of the software available; however, the
purchase price isn’t that steep. I have
tried many genealogy software programs before building this site, and
this one is the easiest to learn and use by far!
CONTACT ME !!!
If anybody can make a family connection, please feel free
to let me know. I want to include as much information on the page as possible.
I am also interested in accuracy, so please feel free if you note any error(s)
to contact me as well. Click on my
stunningly good-looking image below to send me an email.
