I am 44 years old (2005) and have been a resident of Maidencreek Township for over 15 years. I have been married to my wife, Krista, for 22 years. We have one son and one daughter who we have raised in Maidencreek Township. Below I have listed some of my background and qualifications that I hope you will find helpful in your decision on who you decide to support:

Experience in the private industry:

• Agility Communications 2004 - Present

  Position Held: Senior Development Engineer/Project Manager

• Consulting Engineer December 2002 - 2004

  Position Held: Consultant assisting in automated test and measurement; customers include Agility Communications, and other tech sector companies in Pennsylvania and Maryland.

• Agility Communications August 2000 - December 2002.

  Position Held: Senior Development Engineer - lead team of developers in PA.

• Lucent Technologies (formerly AT&T) 1982 - August 2000.

  Position Held: Member of Technical Staff.

Education:

• 1988 University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA Graduate Course in Microwave Engineering.

• 1986 Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA Master of Science (M.S.) in Electrical Engineering.

• 1982 Lafayette College, Easton, PA Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering Summa Cum Laude.

• Member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxillery since 1986 (I have taught boating safety courses, dome marine vessel examinations)

I believe that my experience as an elected official and public servant makes me qualified to be your township supervisor:

• Donated time to the township for the development of the computer networking system saving the taxpayers thousands of dollars

• Maidencreek Township Supervisor 1999-Present

• Chair of the Board of Supervisors 2002 – Present

My record as supervisor shows my qualifications:

• I ensured that there was no increase in the property taxes since I became chairman

• I lead the way for the improved storm water ordinances in response to the flooding in July 2001

• I saw to the resolution of a decade long private sewage leak that plagued neighboring residents

• I’ve ensured that ordinances are enforced more even handedly: giving fewer wavers to developers than ever before

• I have facilitated the most open communication with the public at meetings and via the internet that Maidencreek has ever seen. Click here to see my website on Township news.

Philosophy of Government:

Government at all levels should limit its activities to protecting the rights of the people. At the township level, this means assuring that residents are able to enjoy the fruits of their labors and be good stewards of their property. The township should act zealously to protect these liberties of the residents, including (when necessary) interceding on their behalf with the State or County. NOTE: this statement was on my campaign literature 6 years ago, and I have tried to cast every vote in a manner consistent with this statement. With the state of Pennsylvania mandating many programs in the last 6 years, many of my votes were compromises. Usually, these mandates tend to diminish the liberty of the residents. -Roy Timpe
