Practice for the Christmas Program will begin in early November. This year's Christmas Program will be on December 13, with a snow date of December 20.

The Advent Workshop will be on Sunday, November 22 from 9:00 - 10:00 AM. We are looking into hand delivering some of the Advent Workshop crafts and caroling on December 6. Further information will follow.

Christmas Luncheon

On Sunday, December 6, at the 10:15 service, we will be welcoming the Muslim families and friends from Lehigh Dialogue Center at our worship service, followed by a buffet style luncheon with traditional Christmas specialties. All are welcome to attend the service and attend the luncheon.  PLEASE RSVP to the church office 610-863-6859 for the luncheon.

Read the Bible in a Year Beginning January 1, 2010

The ELCA has designated this year as a year to become acquainted with the Bible, our Book of Faith. Why not take the challenge of reading the Bible in a year? Beginning January 1, we will have a group doing just that. Each day of 2010 there is a bite size zelection of scripture to read and digest. Each week we'll gather during coffee hour to share our thoughts and encourage one another.

A support book, God Sightings, is available to guide your thoughts for the week, Also the One Year Bible, which places the readings for the day together in one place, is also available.

Advent Study
"The Shack"

December 2, 9, 16 at 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM

The Shack by William Young has been on the New York Times Best Seller list for many weeks. It is a fictional account of one man's encounter with God. The Shack is an easy read and a provocatvie and powerful experience. As we prepare for the coming of Christ at Christmas, let's gather together and share our experience of God's presence in The Shack and in our lives. Prepare yourself for Christmas with this experience of an encounter with God. Come to either session or both. You'll be enriched.

Social Ministries

Social Ministries Reaches Out to
Gracedale Tower 7

Our Social Ministry Committee works along with another local congregation to sponsor events for Tower 7. Every other month we hand out birthday gifts and favors to each resident on the floor. We are grateful to our Latchkey Program and Sunday School children who have helped us make favors in the past.

At Christmas time both churches take presents to the residents. It was decided that the best gift this year would be sweaters. Some of the residents have no family to visit or provide gifts during the year. Our favors and gifts seem so simple and unimportant, but they mean so much to each resident.

We need your help. If you can donate any of the following it will be greatly appreciated.

  • Sweaters/sweatshirts - Men's L, XL, XXL (Open front preferred, but pullovers OK)
  • Baseball Caps
  • Men's Tee Shirts- XXL any color
  • Individual cups of pudding or applesauce.
  • White socks
  • Slippers socks
  • Pencils
  • Large Print Word Search Books

Please place all donations in the bin in the Narthex. Thank you!
