St. Peter's Church Council

There are twelve members of St. Peter’s council who are elected by the voting members of the congregation. Council members are elected for a three-year term and may serve two consecutive terms. Each year of a term runs from June to May.

St. Peter’s council elects their officers at the June meeting each year and are listed below.

It is the responsibility of the Congregation Council to have a general oversight of the life and activities of St. Peter’s. Council members are expected to maintain supportive relationships with the Pastor and staff, encourage all members to be involved in the life of the church, and be examples individually and corporately of the style of life and ministry expected of all baptized persons.

In order to keep the lines of communication open among St. Peter’s many committees, council members act as liaisons to designated committees. Committee guidelines were set in May, 2005. You can read them here.
