This tournament has changed bowling lives forever, and now it could change yours.

Each year at the USA Junior Olympic Gold National Championships, the best youth bowlers in North America compete for scholarships, individual national titles, and berths on the Junior Bowling Team USA.  Team USA is a traveling team that receives fully funded support from the USBC to travel all over the world including other continents to represent our great country in the game of bowling.  The tournament, conducted by USBC, on behalf of USA Bowling, began in 1998, and is the pinnacle event for members of the USA Junior Gold Program.  The top four male and female bowlers and two additional finalists in both the boys and girls division by the tournament committee at the national event become Junior Team USA Members.

RULES FOR QUALIFYING

To be eligible for gold membership, girls must have a minimum average of 150 and boys 175.  Bowlers must also be sanctioned USBC Youth.  No USBC adults are allowed.  To qualify, you must purchase or have in your possession a Junior Gold Membership card to try to qualify.  If you need to purchase a membership, the cost is $ 30.  You MUST have this card to try to qualify.  After obtaining the card, you must pay $ 20 at each event you would like to try to qualify through.  Bowlers are qualified on a 1 in 7 ratio.  We guarantee that one bowler will qualify at every event this season, with at least six bowlers attempting to qualify.  Depending on the amount of entries, tournament director Matt will announce whether or not more than one qualifier will be sent.  When qualifying only one at a certain event due to low amount of signups, boys and girls compete against each other for high scratch qualifier.  In other cases, separate qualifying divisions will be set up for men and women if we have enough entries to send two or more at the event.

For Sunday events, the five game qualifying round and three games of match play will determine results.  If bowlers do not make first cut, they will receive zeroes for games six through eight.  At the completion of every tournament, all entries will be listed.   Winners will be announced at the 10th Annual Added Money Bowling Championships Tournament and will receive a special award.

If anyone has any questions regarding the Junior Gold National Championships, please feel free to call tournament director Matt Himmelreich at 570-385-4017.  Matt has been part of this tournament. Previous sites for this event include Orlando, Las Vegas, Reno, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Fort Lauderdale, Buffalo, and Metro Detroit.  The investment you make for this tournament is probably the most worthwhile experience as a USBC youth bowler.  This tournament changes your life and your image of junior bowling in America.
