This pair of Pekingese came to us as fosters in the fall of 2001 when their family couldn't keep them any longer. Gizmo was 6 and Oreo 7 years old. They had very different personalities, and were difficult to place together. So, after screening a lot of unacceptable potential adopters, we decided to split them up, and found the perfect home for one of them. I asked the people to think about it over the week-end to be sure they wanted to adopt, and let us know. They decided yes, and I was thrilled...I knew it would be a wonderful home! They decided on Oreo.Giz and Oreo were with us for a couple weeks. By the time Oreo left for her new home, they had become part of our family and it was very hard to see her go. We couldn't bear to see Gizmo go, too, so he stayed and joined our furry gang.
Both Pekes are doing well and are loved. I keep in touch with their former owner and send her pictures. She misses them, and has brought her family to visit Gizmo.
