This is Lady.  Two days before Thanksgiving, she was tied outside a grocery store in the cold.  The reason: her owner was being held inside for shoplifting.  Through a fortunate series of events, she ended up in foster care, and on December 10, 1998, she gave birth to eleven puppies.  In this picture, they are only hours old.  Within 36 hours, one puppy had died, but the rest were, and are, happy and healthy.

Lady is a wonderful mother, who took good care of her puppies, while staying sweet and loving to everyone who came to see them...including the other Boxers who lived in her foster home.  Lady has found a new person to love, and she has gone to live with Mark and his mixed breed friend, Franz.

Here are some of the kids at 5 1/2 weeks of age...

Love those tails!

I'm sleepy...                                                                     Chow time!

These puppies are healthy little boys and girls who were raised with a lot of human contact...and will be wonderful companions.  They were a few of the lucky ones, saved from being throw-aways or worse.  How many more are there out there just like them?  Lady would want everyone to know that inside every little furry being there is a spirit and a joy for living that is the gift offered to everyone who loves and cares for them.
