Fourth Annual NASIOC.COM
Tri-State 48Hrs. Cruise

The Tri-State Area Cruise is a group of local Subaru owners that are members of the webpage www.nasioc.com.  They come from all over the north eastern area of the US.  The south most group came from the West Chester area of PA and the north most group came from the MA-NH border area.  We all get together to drive from NJ through NY to Niagara; back through NY to Philadelphia PA then back to NJ.  After the first year it was decided to raise some money for a charity while doing this, this year we choose the American Cancer Society.  Below are some pictures and captions to describe them.

This map shows the major stops that were made through out the trip.  The lines are not the route we took, just the "as the crow flies" version.
Start with the black boxes and work your way around counter clockwise.

Day 1 (evening/night):  We traveled from North Jersey to Brewster, NY for dinner.  From Brewster we drove another 2 hours to Albany where we stayed at a hotel.  I only have 1 pictures from Thursday because once we were at the official kick-off point it was too dark to get pictures.  This was taken while we were waiting to meet with a fellow subaru to convoy up to the kick-off.
Here is the car (2002 WRX sport wagon) I rode up to the official kick-off, the car belongs to my friend Brent.

Day 2-We traveled along back roads through NY heading towards Syracuse.  However we all checked the webpage and realized no one was there to meet us.  So we all decided to just take the interstate to Niagara, Canada so we can get there early and relax.

This is a bridge we stopped on during the back roads drive.
This is the river that the bridge goes over, all covered in ice/snow.
Here we are all lined up on the interstate.

Day 3:  We wake up in Niagara, start the day off walking out to our cars to find it has started to snow!  We swing by the falls to grab some quick pictures then off to Ithaca, NY where we will meet with some local people for lunch.  As we got closer to Ithaca the harder it was snowing, by the time we were in Ithaca they had gotten 5 inches of snow.  From Ithaca we traveled down to Philadelphia, the further south we went the less the snow there was.  Once in Allentown the roads were dry.

Kyle (97-Impreza wagon), Mike (02-2.5 RS), me, and Kristen (97-Impreza wagon) discussing plans for the day.
Abby (02 WRX sport-wagon), and Jen (02 WRX) drinking their morning coffee.
Ted's STI leaving the hotel in Niagara, just about all the cars were this dirty.

Here is the American falls taken from the Canadian side.
Here we are lined up along the road while we got some pictures of the falls

Here is what the roads were like going into Ithica, we were all happy to get some snow to drive through.
Here we are in Ithaca for lunch.
Here is a quick stop we made after leaving Ithaca before getting onto the interstate to Philadelphia.

Here is a accident we witnessed just before leaving a rest stop area.  It was on a side road next to the interstate.  After seeing this car flip we flagged down a plow truck in the rest area and had him call the accident in.  We stopped to make sure everyone was ok and the driver had walked away from the accident.

Day 4:  We left Philadelphia heading to Woodridge, NJ where we had the final dinner.  This day was the most relaxed of the whole weekend, started off with breakfast at a local diner.  From there we headed towards Woodridge going through New Hope, PA and again taking as many back roads as we could.  After the final dinner together we all said our "good-byes", "see you next year", and "thank you for letting me borrow this and that".

Here is a view outside our hotel window in Philadelphia, neat to see all the cars lined up.
Here is a picture the guy who runs this event making some quick repairs to his SVX after breakfast.
Here we are going down the interstate heading to Woodridge.  I am in the 2nd-3rd car in line, we are in all in the center lane and stretch to about where the car is in the left lane.
Here we are for a quick stop in New Hope, PA.

Here is Kristen&Kyle's wagon.  Known as "the little wagon that could" because it was the smallest engine of the bunch and had recently been fixed after encountering a deer a few weeks before this cruise.  I ended up co-driving with them for most of the trip, they also let me drive here and there so they could relax and get some pictures.
Here we are saying our good-byes after the final dinner.  I think just about everyone did not want to see the drive end.

This picture was taken by Rob Plafta who co-drove the entire trip just to photograph.  I saw a few pictures he took and they looked great, thanks to Rob for doing this for us.  This is a picture of the whole group after the final dinner, there are 2-3 people that had to leave before the picture was taken.
