of The United States Submarine Veterans Inc. was chartered in January 2006 to serve men in Northeast PA nearby to the Scranton & Wilkes Barre areas.

The Base has adopted two main goals along with its other activities.  Our adopted base name reflects our goal to serve and honor the men who serve aboard the USS Scranton SSN-756.  And also we have a long term project to erect a memorial with a theme which promotes the Submarine Force to the public, and follows the principles of our organization’s creed.  The early stages of the memorial project have been preliminary fund raising which has made good progress.

The Base has its regular meetings on the second Saturday of each month at 1100 hours at the Marine Corps League Museum, 1340 Alder Street in Scranton (easily accessible just off I-81***).  After our business meeting we have luncheon refreshments, and share comradery.  Come out and meet some of your fellow submariners and check out our enjoyable endeavors.

We ask you to consider joining us, especially to help with our memorial project with ideas for design, and additional fund raising.   Perhaps you can’t attend meetings on a regular basis, but might be able to attend periodically.  Whatever your situation, your support as a member, and help in any way to advance our goals is important.  We hope to hear from you. Please call or send an email so we can keep you on our mailing list.
