The S3 Trio64V+
I have a Hercules Terminator 64/V video card with the S3 Trio64V+ chip.
Like many people, I have had many problems using this with DOS VESA 2.0
games under WIN 95.
The Hercules drivers also gave me problems - garbled characters in a WIN 95
DOS full screen window.
The card works great now! Here's what I did....
- Rather than the Hercules drivers,I am using the updated
generic S3 Trio 64V+ drivers available at the S3 support page
- Sci Tech Display Doctor didn't work all that well, and it's not free, so I'm using S3VBE20 for DOS VESA modes. This is from Dietmar Meschede.
- Finally, to get WARCRAFT2 working in WIN95, I'm using the S3FIX.EXE from Chris Oicles
