On the 2nd. of the months Dickens, one of our
Northern Arapahoe boys died of pneumonia. Dick- ens was one of the merriest of the company of boys who had quarters by themselves and a matron in charge of them and he will be much missed by the little family. His aptness to learn and his obedient spirit endeared him to his teachers aud his death has brought a great sadness to our circle. While we mourn our hearts go out in sympnthy for those at his home who have anticipated his going to them, to be their pride and joy. He was the son of Sharp Nose second chief of his tribe and this fact would have given him much influence among his people JANUARY 1883 MORNING STAR.x |
