The Wedding

On August 10, 1996, my brother, Louis, and his fiance, Daria, were married. I had the honor of performing the ceremony. My name is John L. Ferri -- the Reverend John L. Ferri.

My brother, Louis, with me on the right, before the wedding. We're in front of the pool near the garden where the ceremony occurred.
My brother, Louis; his son, Louie; Daria's nephew, John.

The wedding party: Daria's niece; Daria's daughter, Dana; Daria; Louis; Louis's son, Louie; and John, Daria's nephew. I've started to address the guests (approximately 100) nearby.
 True love gives nothing but itself
And takes nothing but from itself.
Love does not possess, nor would it be possessed.
For love is sufficient unto love.
Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself,
To awake at dawn with a winged heart and
Give thanks for another day of loving.
To rest at noon and meditate love's ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude,
And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart
And a song of praise upon your lips.
(from "The Prophet")
Louis to Daria: "I give you this ring as the pledge of my love and as the symbol of our unity."
Daria to Louis: "I give you this ring as the pledge of my love and as the symbol of our unity."
Inasmuch as Louis and Daria have consented together in marriage before this company, have pledged their faith and declared their unity by each giving and receiving a ring, and are now joined in mutual esteem and devotion; I pronounce that they are husband and wife together.
