This photo shows the formed angles installed on either side of the flaperon slide mechanism. I found that you need to cut away most of the width of the top in order to accomodate the aileron bellcrank pivot bolt. And you need to cut it all away to allow clearance for the forward cable attach bolts through their operating range fore and aft.. In addition, I had to turn the forward cable attachment bolts around so that the head of the bolt was outboard in order clear the side of the angle. |
I installed the flaperon actuating bellcrank forward of the wing because I did not want to have to reach up behind and over my shoulder to operate the crank. This will only work if you're installing the fiberglass gap seal. Otherwise, she'd be hanging out in the breeze and the tube would have to penetrate the standard gap seal. |
