FUTURE GOALS OF CWC |
|
| In February 1998, the final payment was made on the 10 1/2 acre tract of land on Miller Road. This was just 13 months after the initial settlement on the land. This was truly a miracle! Funds are now coming in for the new Worship Center fund. The top picture is the sign which sits on the edge of the corn field. The bottom picture is the artist's drawing of how the future worship center will look. |
| The main goal of Calvary Wesleyan Church is to reach
out and meet the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of the members
or our church, and those in our area who are still in need. We strive to
follow the principles of the Bible in meeting those needs.
This goal will not be fulfilled until every man, woman, and child has come to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. Looking forward to continued growth, the church took a step of faith in 1996 and decided to purchase a ten acre tract of land just outside of Millersburg, off Route 25 (The Berrysburg Road), on Miller Road. The settlement occured in January 1997, a day after the 65th anniversary of the chartering of the church. Now that the land is paid for, the church is now seriously
looking at building a new facility. There will be a new sanctuary, education
rooms, and fellowship hall. This will give the church room for adequate
parking as the congregation continues to grow. Also, there is plenty of
room for a picnic area to be used for church and individual functions.
The first official event on the new property was on Saturday, March 29. It was an Easter Egg hunt for the children. What better place to find eggs than in a field! At the present, there is wheat growing on part of the land. What a great reminder of Jesus' words about the fields being white unto harvest. What a challenge for the church to meet their ultimate goal of ministering to the needs of others. We have planted grass on one section of the land where we have occasional services and fellowship times. |
