THE ANCIENT PHILOSOPHER POMPOSCELES

The wisdom of seventh-century-B.C. Athenian philosopher Pomposceles has earned him a reputation as one of Western civilization's immortal thinkers. Well, maybe not immortal -- memorable, perhaps. (At least that's what his mother said.)

From Pomposceles, we learned these important philosophical dicta:

"I am such a cool philosopher." [632 B.C.]

"You've reached Pomposceles the Philosopher. I'm not home right now, but if you leave a message, I'll get back to you." [625 B.C.]

"What do you mean 'memorable', Mom? I'm freakin' immortal, that's what I am. Whoo! Yessss!" [622-609 B.C.]
