Oct. 2003
It has been almost a year since
my accident and I would like to fill you in on some of the events
in my life since I came home back in March. I feel much
stronger now and have been getting therapy for my movement and
coordination. A couple of weeks ago, I was able to move
my toes on my right foot! This is very encouraging. I was
contacted by a girl who was at DuPont the same time I was, who
had a similar injury. She started moving her toes and is
now able to walk using crutches.
Over the past year, I have received
cards, letters, phone calls, and gifts from hundreds of people.
I would like to say how I appreciate everyone and tell you that
it has meant a lot to me. My family and I are amazed at
the support we have received. There has been wrestling,
soccer, baseball, and field hockey teams that have helped me.
Churches, VFW posts, booster clubs, and many, many people who
sent me cards. Thank you for all of your support.
The people at DuPont in Deleware
have helped me and my family adjust to my temporary condition.
We made a bunch of friends and the nurses, technicians, and counselors
are the best.
I really enjoy being back at school
full-time! My favorite subject is math, but I like all
of my classes, (especially lunch). The therapist started
me on a weight lifting program and soon I will be able to do
it at school for my phys. ed. class. It is good to be with
my friends everyday because I like being with people. And
I still like having a good time!
Now that I am able to type better,
I will try to keep my website up-to-date.
Thank you to everyone!
