The Teener Tournament
Every July since 1977 the club has given
dozens of
13-year-old baseball players the
chance to shine in their own tournament.
In this first year of teener ball
the 13-year-old may not otherwise
see such opportunity. Under
the steadfast leadership of Joe O'Hara,
this event has become not only
popular but also very successful.
For several years he succeeded
in arranging for them to play
the championship game at the home
of our triple A professionals,
the Scranton Wilkes-Barre Red Barons.
In 2007 the finals moved
to King's College Betzler Field. This service project is in
keeping
with our general interest in promoting youth
athletics.
Proceeds generated by this event
support baseball for kids and
facility maintenance in the Fort-Swoyer
area.
