Trail Name - Iron Mine,
Length - 2.0, Type - Snowmobile
Rating - B-1 descent, B-3 ascent
Description - This is a 2 mile, 800 ft, steady, ascent from the bottom of Broad Mountain to the top, which crosses over Wolf Pond road and ends up joining Matter Snowmobile. Go right and you'll meet up with Rock's ridge (on the right).  The climb is moderate to steep and aerobically demanding.

Trail Name - Deep Hollow,
Length - 2.0, Type - Snowmobile

Rating - B-1 descent, B-3 ascent
Description - This is a 2 mile, 800 ft ascent from the bottom of Broad Mountain (starts at the same spot as Iron Mine), to the top going towards the Hang Glider Launch site. The trail intersects at Wolf Pond Road and Matter Trail.  Rock's Ridge Trail crosses over near the top. You'll climb, level out in the switchback (in the hollow), then climb again, level out a little, then start a gradually steeper climb.  Then you'll level out a little and actually get a short downhill, then finish with about a ˝ mile of less-demanding climb.  Aerobically demanding.

Trail Name - Wolf Pond,
Length - 1.25, Type - Singletrack

Rating - I-2 to A-2 descent. I-3 to A-2 ascent
Description - This trail goes north and south, starting at Wolf's Pond Road. The north section descends to the bottom of the mountain and is extremely steep and washed out at one section, basically a walking trail, except at the top to access Rock's Ridge Trail.  The south section (going south) is a technical gradual downhill with several, challenging rock gardens which make this trail intermediate to advanced skill level. Rerouted section now has a rock armored creek crossing. Wolf Pond Trail intersects Rim Trail.

Trail Name - Rim,
Length - 2.7, Type - Snowmobile

Rating - B-1 descent, B-2 ascent
Description - This is an easy ride descending 250 ft from the Hang Glider Launch parking lot at the top of Broad Mountain, to White Oak Road, near Minnich's Hit Picnic Area.  Wolf Pond Trail intersects Rim Trail.

Trail Name - Boundary Line,
Length - 0.75, Type - Snowmobile

Rating - B-1 both directions
Description - A connecting snowmobile trail from Rim to Matter at the top of Broad Mountain. Very easy section of double track.

Trail Name - Rock's Ridge -West, (formerly Mountain Top) (new for 2002)
This effectively becomes an extension of the original Rock's Ridge (East) from the Wolf Pond Road end all the way to Deep Hollow -this trail uses some old logging roads that can make it hard to pick up the singletrack on the west end of the logging road loops.
Length - 1.5 ,Type - Singletrack
Rating - I-2 both directions
Description - New for 2002, this trail can be tough going up to the hang glider launch due to the many rocks.  Because you are on a gradual climb AND using muscle power to get over the rocks (not really rock gardens, but rocks all along the way), you're exerting pretty much energy.  A challenge after doing Rock Ridge East, if that's the route you take. (Hint…if Rocks Ridge east bonked you; take Wolf Pond Road to Wolf Pond Trail).

Trail Name - Rocks Ridge -East,
Length - 1.1, Type - Singletrack

Rating - A-3 both directions
Description - A very challenging, mostly rock garden trail. You'll encounter 6 larger rock gardens and many, many rocks along the way. The trail runs from Matter snowmobile to Wolf Pond Road. Cross Wolf Pond road and you'll continue on Rock's Ridge -West.

Trail Name - Matter(snowmobile),
Length - 2.2, Type - Snowmobile

Rating - B-2 both directions
Description - Be careful here with trail names 'cause there are 2 Matter Trails.  One is a snowmobile trail and the other, older Matter trail that is singletrack. The Snowmobile trail is grass and gravel at spots with a few, minor ascents/descents.

Trail Name - Matter(singletrack),
Length - 1.1, Type - Singletrack

Rating - I-2 descent, I-3 ascent
Description - This trail descends/ascends about 200 ft.  There's a few rocky sections, and logs that are grueling to get over on the ascent, but fun-time on the descend. Matter Singletrack intersects with Matter Snowmobile near Rock's Ridge, crosses over White Oak Road (the trail is marked here), and ends at Preserve Line snowmobile trail.

Trail Name - Lukes,
Length - 0.5, Type - Gravel/dirt/grass Fire Road

Rating - B-1 both directions
Description - This is a gated fire road, that's opened to motorized traffic during hunting season.  It's flat, wide, and the longer way around to Grimm's trail and eventually Shale Run Trail- singletrack. The trail ends up on State Game lands if you continue on past Grimm's to the hardtop road at the top of the Lykens mountain above Lykens Glenn.

Trail Name - Grimm's,
Length - 0.6, Type - Snowmobile

Rating - B-1 decent, B-2 ascent
Description - A connecting trail for Shale Run Trail.  A small, short climb coming from Lukes Trail. A 100 ft ascent from White Oak Road. Shale Run Trail intersects Grimm's trail.
