Rome Township Monthly Meeting

April 8, 2014

 

Attendees: John George, Roy Keiper, Ed Wall, Priscilla Keeney

 

Visitors :  Robert Beebe and Mary Beebe

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Public Comment Period:

·        Jim Burrows requested his building permit be renewed – Renewal was granted.

·        Subdivision for James & Rose Ellis was reviewed. Supervisors had no comment. The secretary was directed to sign off on the subdivision.

·        Priscilla relayed a request from the Tractor Club for permission to use the township parking lot if needed for overflow parking. The supervisors were all okay with the request.

·        Robert Beebe asked if there were any projects scheduled. Roy Keiper replied that the supervisors had taken a day to assess the township roads. The list is not prioritized yet. Roy is putting together a materials list for bid advertisement.

 

Approval of Minutes:

Ø      Roy Keiper made the motion to accept the minutes from the March 11, 2014, Regular meeting, John George seconded, all agreed, motion carried.

Ø      Roy Keiper made the motion to accept the minutes from the March 27, 2014, Workshop, Ed Wall seconded, all agreed, motion carried.

 

Treasurer’s Report:

Ø      Roy Keiper made the motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report, John George seconded, all agreed, motion carried.

 

Road Department Report – Roy Keiper

Ø      Ditches and pipes were cleaned on Dry Run Road

Ø      Prepared the following equipment to put out for sale: Bomag Roller; Boom Mower; 1991 6X6 Dump Truck; and the two Army pickups.

Ø      Roy Keiper made the motion to list the equipment for sale on municibid.com, as well as, put an ad in the paper directing buyers to the municibid website. Ed Wall seconded, all agreed, motion carried.

 

 

Unfinished Business:

 

Ø      John George has been unable to track down Chesapeake contacts for the township. Robert Beebe stated that he may have some names and will check and get back to the supervisors.

Ø      John George said that the weight limit had been raised from 5 Ton to 15 Ton on McClelland Road Bridge, but that it was till inadequate. John Parks, Fire Chief, stated that 15 Ton limit still excludes most of their equipment.

New Business:

 

Ø      John George would like the supervisors to take a look at some possible mitigation projects within the township at the next workshop meeting.

Ø      Brad Sink contacted the township about getting the Rome Borough Park rolled. Roy Keiper will contact Brad and make the arrangements.

 

 

Adjournment:

John George made the motion to adjourn and pay the bills, Roy Keiper seconded, all agreed, motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
